I have heard the question asked, "Where is the Art, on this campus?"

On campus, there usually is an Art Show of Students work each semester.
The ARC Art Gallery (Room 503) is where the majority of the entries can be seen, with some of the works on display in the Library.

The student show for the Spring 2000 semester will be at the end of April through the end of the semester, in May.
Student entries will be excepted April 25-26, in the gallery.

The ARC Art Gallery also displays art work in the Oak Cafe on campus. In April there will be a display of works by the students of Diane Richey Ward. The exhibit is entitled "Bone Appetite."

Currently on display in the Art Gallery is a show of Diane Richey Wardâs own work. Many of the Art Instructors at American River, exhibit their work throughout the area at local galleries. To name just a few more exhibiting instructors; Pam Maddock, Gary Pruner, Joe Patitucci, and Betty Nelsen. I personally have taken art courses from several of these instructors and they are truly inspirational. Click here to see some of my art work.

For more information about the instructors and coures offered, check the Art Department's web site or the current course listing for the college.

The exhibits in the Art Gallery, Library, and Oak Cafe are rotated every two to three weeks. They feature work by the students, instructors, and artists from the local community. Stop by and take a peek!

The gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 11am - 5pm, or by appointment. Contact the gallery at (916) 484-8399.
